In fact, we have not stopped. I have been in meetings every week. I am rejoicing in all that God has done in the meetings. Where people are hungry for His blessings, God is working.

In our last newsletter I asked prayer for a new tent for our ministry. The estimated cost of a new tent and the equipment that would needed was $15,000.00. Since I mailed the letter, we have been given (yes, given) two tents for the ministry. Praise the Lord! Both are a 60X40 tent which was exactly what we needed. This will enable us to store the tents in different locations which will save us from having carrying one tent over long distances. Yes, God does answer prayer and meet the needs of His work. Thanks for all who prayed. We still have a few things to get to equip the tents such as chairs, PA system, etc; but I know God will supply everything.

We are finalizing everything for getting a new church started on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Keep praying that we will be able to get the church started soon. There is such a need on this Reservation.

God bless and thanks for all who take time to visit our blog (even though we are late in the postings). This has been a blessed summer. I look back with a thankful heart for everything God has done. We were on six Reservations, holding meetings on three and visiting three others to learn more about the need for a church on these reservations. Our meetings were on the Jicarilla Apache Reservation in New Mexico, the Pine Ridge Sioux Reservation in South Dakota, and the Wind River Shoshoni and Arapaho Reservation in Wyoming. We visited the Rosebud Sioux Reservation in South Dakota, the Crow Reservation and Cheyenne Reservations in Montana. Our meetings were blessed of God with 29 saved at Pine Ridge and 6 saved on the Wind River Reservations. To God be the Glory!

We left the Reservations with a greater burden to share the need of Native Americans with churches across the south and to challenge others to join with us in the great work. Please pray that God will continue to bless Native American Baptist Missions and send us workers to join with us in reaching Native Americans for Christ. Please pray as we go from church to church each week that God will use us to glorify God and share the need of Native America.

Thank you for all who prayed for us this summer. We felt the prayers of God's people. To each of you we are indebted.

Yours for Native America
Ken Trivette

WIND RIVER TENT MEETING

We closed out our tent meeting on the Wind River Reservation last night (8/19-10). This was our first tent meeting at the Fort Washakie location on the Reservation. We have a church at Fort Washakie, the Washakie Baptist Church, which was started a little over three years ago. Our missionary Dan Fritz serves here. We visited every morning during the meeting telling people about the meeting and inviting them to attend. We were very pleased with the response of the people. We averaged over 30 each night in the services with a high of 46. There were many first time visitors. To God's glory, there were six saved during the meeting!

As I have often seen in these meetings, it is toward the end of the week that we see the people respond. The first few nights the seed is sown and then toward the end of the meeting we see that seed come to fruition. Curtis came every night. He was like a sponge and on Wednesday night he was saved. When I arrived at the tent on Thursday night, Len was waiting on me to get there. He wanted to talk to me and He was saved. When we gave the invitation after the Thursday service, 4 more were saved; Evelyn, July, J.C., and Norcesse were saved. It was a glorious night. All that were saved were adults with the exception of J.C., who is a young boy. There were many tears and rejoicing from both our team and those that were saved. Please pray for each of these that they will grow in grace. As well, pray for Dan Fritz and Washakie Baptist Church as they continue to work among the Shoshoni and Arapaho of the Wind River Reservation.

Thank your for all who prayed. We will began our final meeting of the summer next week. We will be meeting at the Fremont Youth Camp which is located just off the Reservation. This meeting is sponsored by the Calvary Baptist Church and missionary Richard Morgan. CBC is located in Riverton on the Wind River Reservation. Keep this meeting in prayer and I will let you know next week how the meeting goes.

Yours for Native America
Ken Trivette

PINE RIDGE UPDATE

As I look back over the Pine Ridge meeting, my soul is overwhelmed, and overflows in praise and thanksgiving. I think back to our first meeting last summer on the Reservation. Pine Ridge had been a special burden of mine and all over the country I had asked people to pray for the Reservation. When we came last year we came much uncertainty and a measure of fear. I had heard so many stories about Pine Ridge that I did not know what we would find or how we would be received. I had been told by one who had lived on Pine Ridge that it was like Satan had a cloud over the Reservation. We came and were greatly encouraged by the response we received and all that happened.

This year was our second year on the Reservation and what happened far exceeded all our expectations. We averaged over 100 each night in the services and 29 people were saved! The response of the people was amazing. I have not found a more open people on a Reservation than at Pine Ridge. Even when we visited the homes of the people we were openly received. We visited close to 100 homes on the Reservation and I had only had a couple of reports of people who did not want to talk to us. We found the people receptive and very friendly. The attitude of the people during the meeting was very encouraging. God had certaintly gone before us and prepared the hearts of the people.

Please pray for the soon arrival of our missionary to Pine Ridge. I believe that once we are able to get a church started on the Reservation we will see some great things happen. Please put Pine Ridge on your prayer list and pray daily for the work here. This past week has been one in which we experienced many things and walked through many open doors. The people of Pine Ridge have many needs. They are as great as on any Reservation. Yet, we have seen that God is without limitations and even on Pine Ridge He is able to demonstrate His power.

I think of a stanza in one of William Cowper's hymns:

Lord, we are few, but Thou art near:
Nor short Thine arm, nor deaf Thine ear;
Oh rend the heavens, come quickly down,
And make a thousand hearts Thine own.

May the Lord give us many souls on Pine Ridge in the days and years to come!

Yours for Native America
Ken Trivette
Director Native America Baptist Missions

PINE RIDGE UPDATE

I am still in awe over our second night in Pine Ridge. Yesterday (7/19/10) we visted over 60 homes on the Reservation inviting people to the tent-meeting. During the day we had 7 people saved. Glory to God! We arrived at the tent with great expectation at what God would do. We were in awe as people kept coming. People were even coming after the service was over. We had 82 chairs out in the tent and every chair was filled, plus we had people standing all around the tent. We did not get an exact count, but there were well over 100 people in the service. When the invitation was given 12 precious souls were saved. For the day, 19 people were saved!

We are going back out this morning. Please be praying that God will help us. I will let you know tomorrow how the services goes tonight. We are very encouraged by the number that attended (56). Even though we have a group from North Carolina here to help us, the number of people from the Reservation was excellent for the first night. Several remembered us from last year and told us they were glad we were back. As in all tent meetings, if anything can happen, it will happen. When we got back to the tent we found we had lost power. We finally were able to get the power back on and began the service. Just as I began the message a terrible storm came up. It rained so hard you could not hear in the tent. I had to stop for about 15 minutes but when the rain stopped I picked up where I left off and when I gave the invitation, a young Sioux girl name Elena came forward and was saved. To God be the glory! He always gets the victory.

We will be visiting on the Reservation today. The needs of the people of Pine Ridge (physically, materially, and spiritually) are overwhelming. It is impossible to comprehend the need unless one is actually here.

Pastor Marty Bess from Grace Baptist Church in Morganton, NC and a group from his church are here to help us. They raised over 250 boxes of food to distribute during the meeting. We will use the food boxes as an incentive to get people to the meeting. Yesterday, I drove pastor Bess around and we stopped at a dumpster to throw some trash away. We met an old Sioux by the name of Lennie. I asked how he was doing and he replied, "I'm just trying to make ends meet." He was digging in the garbage trying to find food. I talked to him and invited him to the meeting and told him about the food we would be passing out. I pray he will come to the meeting. This is one example of the conditions we find here.

Please pray for our meeting this week. The main purpose of the meeting is to lay a foundation for a new church on Pine Ridge. If time permits, I will try to update you each day with the progress of the meeting. Thank you for taking time to read my posts and for praying for us. It is always a joy to hear from you and would love to hear your comments. It is encouragement to know that you are praying for us. You have had heard the saying that home is where the heart is. My heart is with the Native Americans and I live each day awaiting the time when I will see their precious faces again. When I pull on a Reservation I am at home. I ask you pray for our summer and the several meetings we have planned. We have a busy summer planned and we are trusting God for a fruitful summer.

The past couple of weeks have been blessed. On Mother's Day I was with Pastor Bud Rowe and the Red Cross Baptist Church in Climax, N.C. This was my first time to be with these dear people. Brother Bud has been a dear friend for many years and my heart was blessed to be with him and be in his church. The place was full and there was a wonderful spirit in the service. They have been faithful supporters of our ministry and I give thanks to God at every remembrance of them.

While in the area, on Friday night my wife spoke at the Mother/Son Banquet at Moon's Chapel Baptist Church in Siler City, N.C. It was a joy to see Pastor Scott Faw and some of his people again. These dear folk have become special to our heart.

The following week I was Pastor Alan Flowers and the New England Baptist Church in Trenton, GA. This was my first time to be with this pastor and in this church. I was with them Sunday through Wednesday. It was a blessed week. Pastor Flowers has such a good spirit about him and his people were a delight to preach to and to be around.

This past Sunday I was with Pastor Randy Gibson and the Worship Point Baptist Church in Lenoir, N.C. This church will always be special to my heart for it was the first place I preached outside of my home church. It brought back many memories. This church has been one of our supporters for the past few months. I appreciate Pastor Gibson and these dear people.

Keep us and all our missionaries in prayer.

Yours for Native America
Ken Trivette
5/26/10

WEEKLY UPDATE

Dear Friends in Christ:

I just finished a meeting at the Memorial Baptist Church in Bluefield, VA. This was my fourth year to be in this Church. Each year has always been good, but this year was a special blessing. There was a blessed sense of the Lord's presence in every service. God moved in many ways and touched many hearts. It was a refreshing week for my soul and spirit. These dear people are special to my heart and God has used them in our life in many ways. Even as I write, I am rejoicing in all God did. I deeply appreciate everything that Pastor Brooks and the people did for us this week. I am already looking forward to being with them again next year.

It was a joy to have one of our missionaries visit with us this week. Christian Epling, our missionary that works with our addiction program on the Jicarilla Apache Reservation surprised me on Wednesday night by visiting. He has been on the east coast for the past few weeks raising support. It was good to see him.

We are preparing for our time on the Reservations. We will be leaving around the first of June to head west. We will be on the Jicarilla Apache Reservation in New Mexico, the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming, with most of our time spent on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Lord willing, we will be getting a church started on Pine Ridge this summer. Be praying for us as we make our plans.

God bless each of you that follow us and pray for our ministry.

Yours for Native America
Ken Trivette
5/6/10

NEWS FROM KEN TRIVETTE

This past Sunday I was at the Rock Spring Baptist Church in Rock Spring, GA. Kevin Weaver is the pastor. Brother Weaver has not been here very long, but you can tell the people have a great love and respect for him. There was a good spirit in both services and the people were very responsive to God's Word and Native America. It was a blessing to have so many talk to me after the service about the need among the Native Americans.

I have had a couple of calls this week that I want you to pray about. One was from a gentlemen who has a burden for the Pine Ridge Reservation in S.D. He has already moved to the area and is praying about starting a church. I have been praying that God would raise up at least three missionaries to work on Pine Ridge. NABM has one that we hope will be ready to go there this summer. Please pray that God will call people to this Reservation.

A second call I had was from a missionary who serves on another Sioux Reservation in S.D.. Due to health reasons, he will have to leave the church he started. He called to ask me if I knew of anyone who could take the work. Please pray with me that God will give us someone to take this work.

Thanks for checking in with us from time to time. I especially appreciate your prayers as we continue deputation, sharing the needs of Native America, and challenging others to join with us in this great work.

Yours for Native America
Ken Trivette
4/28/10

NEWS FROM KEN TRIVETTE

The past few weeks have been blessed ones. It was a joy and blessing to have been with pastor Mike Goodson and the Gilead Baptist Church. I was with them Easter Sunday through Tuesday night (April 4-6). There was a good spirit in every service. These are dear people and always a joy to be around and to preach to. Pastor Goodson is a dear friend. They are supporters of my ministry and I give thanks to God at every remembrance of them.

It was a blessing to be with Pastor Sam Haynes and the New Grace Baptist Church in Bristol, TN. Although this Church is only five years old, it is amazing what God has done in such a short time. I was there Sunday through Wednesday (April 11-15). There was good attendance in every service and a wonderful spirit. This was my first time in the church and it was encouraging to see all that God has done. This church is also one of my supporters. Pastor Haynes is a precious brother and the church a special blessing.

On Sunday, April 18, we were able to be at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN and pastor Cecial Sturgill. These dear people have been special to my heart for sometime and it was our joy to unite with the Church. They are now our church home. We feel honored and blessed to be a part of Tabernacle and work out from under pastor Sturgill. Everyone needs a good home church and we feel blessed of God to members of Tabernacle.

On Sunday evening, April 18, I was blessed to be with pastor J.W. Dupew and the Homeland Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN. This was my first visit to the Church. It was a great service! From the moment we walked in you could feel God's presence. God has His hand upon the Homeland Baptist Church. At the end of the service they took us on for support. To God be the glory.

We continue to get good reports from the Reservations and our missionaries. I am rejoicing at the people who have been saved in recent days. Thank you for your prayers. Keep praying that God will call many more workers into this needy field.

Yours for Native America
Ken Trivette
4/25/10

Update 4/3/10

Please forgive the long delay in our update. The past few months have been extremely busy. Over the past few months I have been in services, meetings, mission conference with the Damascus Road Baptist Church (Abingdon, VA, Pastor John Massey), Tabernacle Baptist Church (Kingsport, TN, Pastor Cecil Sturgill), Antioch Baptist Church (Bristol, VA, Pastor Brad Davis), Friendship Baptist Church (Harriman, TN, Pastor Larry Grisham), Victory Baptist Church (Washington, GA, Pastor Jimmy Chapman), White Plains Baptist Church (Annison, AL, Pastor Eric Synder), Victory Baptist Church (Ft. Valley, GA, Pastor Chet Cooper), McDonough Baptist Tabernacle (McDonough, GA, Pastor James West), Lyndon Baptist Church (Louisville, KY, Pastor Kevin Housley), and just completed a meeting at the Bible Gospel Baptist Church (Connelly Springs, NC. Pastor Tim Dockery).

In March we completed our Candidate school with two new missionaries being added to our missions family. They are Preston and Sue Withrow, who will be working in missionary helps to all our missionaries; and Dan and Lisa Coburn, who will be going to the Blackfeet of Montana. Praise the Lord for the addition of these missionaries to help us reach Native Americans for Christ.

In March we voted to change our name from Native American Ministries to Native American Baptist Missions. The change in name will better identify who we are and our purpose.

Please continue to pray for the growth of NABM and all our missionaries who are either serving on the field or on deputation. Pastor Wagers has been a good friend for many years and I enjoyed the time with him, his family, and his people.

I want to ask you to remember Evangelist Bob Daughtery in prayer. His precious wife, Evelyn, went home to be with the Lord this past Friday evening. She was "mom" to me and special to my heart. Her funeral will be Tuesday (1/12/10). Please remember brother Bob and all the family in your prayers.

During all this cold weather, my thoughts have often been on the Reservations. I have been in many of the homes of Native Americans and I am familiar with their living conditions. In many cases, it will be hard for many of them to stay warm in these bitter cold temperatures. My heart goes out to them during this time. Please remember the Native Americans in prayer.

Yours for Native America
Ken Trivette

UPDATE JANUARY 5, 2010

A New Year is upon us and with the new year many precious opportunities to make our lives have eternal meaning. I look back over the past year with a thankful heart and rejoice in all God did in the ministry of Native American Ministries. His blessings far exceeded our expectations. The past only increases our faith in the future. The past couple of months have been especially encouraging as I have received more calls than ever before showing interest in being a part of the ministry to help us reach Native Americans for Christ. I must say "Praise the Lord!"

This past Sunday I was home and preached in the Church where I am a member (Harmony Baptist Church). Our pastor, Johnny Nix, recently resigned. We will certainly miss him as our pastor. He has been a dear friend and a great supporter of the ministry. He is one of the best preachers I have ever heard and has been a special pastor. I know God will use him wherever He places him.

As we make plans for the coming year, I ask for your prayers. We are believing God for a special year, one that will result in many Native Americans being with us in heaven one day.

Yours for Native America
Ken Trivette

MINISTRY UPDATE

It was a blessing to have been with pastor Jeff Cook and the Beech Avenue Baptist Church this past Lord's Day. This was my first occasion to have been with this dear pastor and Church. I greatly enjoyed preaching. The people were very open and receptive. I don't think I have been anywhere where the people showed so much interest in Native America. After the services, I was asked many questions by the people about Native America. It was a refreshing day in the Lord to have been with this pastor and his people.

As we approach a New Year, I am believing God for many things. Over the past month, I have spoken with three people who have expressed interest in serving with Native American Ministries. One of my constant prayers is that God will call forth workers to help us reach Native Americans for Christ. I ask you to pray that God will call workers into this great work.

Unless one has been on a Reservation it is hard to comprehend the great need that exists. I am in this work because of the great need and God's call in my life. Maybe you will help us reach those who have largely been forgotten.

I am thankful for the past year of blessings, but anticipating the year ahead. Sunday week I was at the Shenandoah Baptist Church in Cleveland, Tennessee and pastor Jason Grubbs. This was my first opportunity to be in this Church. I was greatly blessed by all I saw and felt. There was a good crowd present and a wonderful sense of God's presence. Brother Jason is doing to good job and I anticipate great things in the future for this pastor and Church.

This past Sunday morning I was with Pastor Keith Purser and the New Birth Baptist Church near Clarksville, Georgia. It was also my first time to be in this Church. My heart was encouraged by the openness of the people and their response to the preaching of the Word of God and the needs of Native America. On Sunday night I was with Pastor Jack Lawson and the White Plains Baptist Church in Jefferson, Georgia. My heart was overwhelmed with the response of the people to Native America. They were very generous in their giving to a special project we have going. Sunday was one of those days that I will cherish in my heart.

I received the call the other day about a 23-year old Apache boy who died from complications from being an alcholic. I am grateful that one of our missionaries led him to the Lord about 2 weeks before he died. His story is one I hear almost weekly. There is no people on the face of the earth that is more needy of the story of the Lord Jesus who can saved them and set them free from the chains that hold most Native Americans in bondage. Thanks for all who help us pray for Native America.

Yours for Native America
Ken Trivette

WEEKLY UPDATE

This past Sunday I was blessed to be with pastor Jerry Bowen and the Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Lexington, N.C. I will be at the Shennadoah Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN with pastor Jason Grubbs.

During this week of Thanksgiving I want to give thanks to God for all His blessings over the past year. I look back with deep gratitude for all He has done. My heart is overwhelmed at all we have seen happen in and through Native American Ministries. Things have been very busy the past few weeks. Since my last update I have had meetings with the Pastor Marvin Fowler (Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Chattanooga, TN), Pastor Bobby Thomas (Fellowship Baptist Church, Calhoun, GA), Pastor Terry Trivette (White Oak Baptist Church, Trenton, GA), Pastor Randy Lynn (Moriah Baptist Church, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA), Pastor Alan King (Zion Baptist Church, Elizabethton, TN) and Pastor Ken Grindstaff (Rich Acres Freewill Baptist Church, Johnson City, TN). I must say that there has been a wonderful sense of the Lord's presence in all the services. My heart has been greatly encouraged by what I am seeing in these Churches.

A team of our missionaries were scheduled to do a series of meetings on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, but due to the weather the meetings had to be postponed. Please continue to pray for Pine Ridge and the open doors we have there.

Thank you for your prayers.

Yours for Native America
Ken Trivette

WEEKLY UPDATE (10/19/09)

It was a joy to be with Pastor Joe White and the Thompson Springs Baptist Church in Cleveland, Tennessee this past Sunday morning. There was a good number present for the morning service.

On Sunday evening I enjoyed being with Pastor Justin Gazaway and the Cloverleaf Baptist Church in Cartersville, Georgia. The building was almost full and a good spirit in the service. This was my first time to be in both these Churches. I was honored, as well as blessed, to preach in these Churches.

I will be in Chattanooga this weekend. I begin a revival meeting at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Brainerd Road. The pastor is Marvin Fowler. He is a dear friend and faithful preacher of God's Word. I am looking forward to being with Him. As always, I covet your prayers for these services.

In all I do and in every Church I preach, Native America is a focus. I am still raising my support as I go from Church to Church, but it is my prayer that there will be someone in the services that God will touch with the need of reaching Native Americans and call them into this great and needy work. There was a wonderful sense of God's presence and the people were very attentive to the preaching of God's Word. This is a great work and they have a heart, not only the Nashville area, but the world.

On Monday night it was a blessing to be a part of the tent meeting hosted by the Maryville Baptist Tabernacle in Maryville, Tennessee. I appreciate Pastor Rick Smelcer and the Church. They were one of the first Churches that took me on as a missionary and they have been faithful in their support. This is their first year for the tent meeting. Pastor Smelcer has plans for this to be a annual meeting and I believe it is going to be a good tent meeting. She has many needs in her life that only Christ can help her with. Please remember her in prayer, as well as all Native Americans.

Yours for Native America
Ken Trivette

WEEKLY UPDATE

It was a joy to be able to spend a few days in Boone, N.C. where my wife and I grew up. It was good to see and spend a little time with some of our family. I had the opportunity to be with Pastor Dan Church and the Vilas Valley Baptist Church. I was privileged to have been Dan's pastor many years ago. I remember the Sunday when he got saved. He started the Vilas Valley Baptist Church and has been faithful to this work. It was good to see him again and a honor to preach for him.

On Sunday I began a meeting at the Moon's Chapel Baptist Church in Siler City, N.C. Scott Faw is the pastor. I was with him through Wednesday night. There are no words to express the wonderful meeting the Lord gave us. The building was full for every service. It was my first time to be here and Pastor Faw was a delight to be with. I rejoice in all God is doing at Moon's Chapel. God is still blessing and this week and Moon's Chapel Baptist Church is an example that God can still bless Churches. This is a dear pastor and a special church. I was blessed by being there.

As always, continue to pray for Native American Ministries and all our missionaries that are serving on the Reservations, the missionaries on deputation, and as I go each week that God will speak to hearts to call others to serve with us to reach Native Americans for Christ.

Yours for Native America
Ken Trivette

WEEKLY UPDATE

It was a joy last week (Wed-Sat) to be in the Missions Conference at the North Laurel Baptist Church in Valdese, N.C. Pastor Mike Wakefield has a great love for missions and it is reflected in his people. This is one of the best Missions Conferences I have had the privlege of being in. It was a great conference and the Lord blessed every service.

On Sunday I was with Pastor Marty Bess and the Grace Baptist Church in Morganton, N.C. for the start of their Missions Conference. There was good crowds in both services and a wonderful sense of the Lord's presence in both services. They also have a good Missions Conference. It was refreshing to have been in both Churches and see the love they have for missions and missionaries. One of the reasons God is blessing them is their obedience to the Great Commission and their desire to do more to reach others around the world.

I have a special request concerning an opportunity on the Pine Ridge Reservation in S.D. On Sunday morning I had the joy at being at the Edgewood Baptist Church in Chattanooga. The Church recently located to a beautiful facility in East Ridge. Pastor Brian Kurtz is doing a great job as pastor. It was a special blessing to my heart to see where God has brought them and all He is doing at Edgewood. There was a good crowd present and a wonderful spirit in the service. I believe God has great things for Edgewood Baptist Church.

On Sunday evening it was a joy to be with Pastor Ronald Guffey and the Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church in Dalton, Ga. Brother Guffey has been pastor here for over 18 years and it was a blessing to see how God has blessed them. They have a beautiful facility and a wonderful fellowship of believers. There was an excellent Sunday night crowd.

I will be in the Missions Conference of the North Laurel Baptist Church in Valdese, N.C beginning this Wednesday (Pastor Mike Wakefield) and with the Grace Baptist Church in Morganton, N.C. this coming Sunday (Pastor Marty Bess). Grace Baptist is one of my supporting Churches and I am looking forward to being with them again.

I received a call concering another tragedy on the Pine Ridge Reservation. The nephew of a lady that attended our tent meeting in June was killed in car wreck a couple of weeks ago. He was drinking and had stolen the vehicle. He was ONLY 14 years old. Then last week, his sister hung herself. Thankfully, she survived but there are physical problems. She is only 16. We receive news like this all the time from the Reservations. Please pray for Native America. There are so many problems on the Reservations and so many needs and so few that are trying to reach them for Christ.

God bless and thanks for your prayers.

Yours for Native America
Ken Trivette

MINISTRY UPDATE

We have concluded our summer meetings on the Reservations and it is back on the road for me, sharing the needs of Native America, challenging others to join us, and continuing to raise my personal support.

It was a blessing to be have been with Pastor Justin Pratt and the Valley View Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee on Sunday morning, August 23. It was a blessing to see the building full. These are some of the friendliest people I have been around. Brother Pratt is doing a good work here. On Sunday night I was with Pastor Stacy Percy and the Grace Baptist Church in Sevierville, Tennessee. Brother Stacy has just gone to Grace as pastor. The place was full on Sunday night and there was a great spirit in the service. I could tell the people are excited about him being their pastor and I believe he will have a good ministry there.

This past Sunday I was with Pastor Rick Church and the Summerfield Baptist Temple in Summerfield, North Carolina. Brother Rick has been pastor here for over 17 years. I was in both services and greatly enjoyed my time with Brother Rick and his people. I am standing in awe at all God has done this week. The attendance has been excellent all week. A special praise is that there were a total of 8 saved. Praise the Lord. We also had several guests that were with us this week from North Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee. There were 3 surrendered their lives to join Native American Ministries to serve as missionaries to help us reach Native Americans for Christ.

A special blessing is that one who surrendered to serve Native America was an Apache from New Mexico. He has a burden for the Ute Reservation. This is an answer to prayer. We have been praying that God would send someone to a Church there that is without a pastor. To my knowlege, this will be the first ever Apache pastor.

This concludes our summer meetings on the Reservations. I am standing in awe at all that has happened through the summer. God has done far more than we ever expected. God is doing a work through Native American Ministries and the Native American people. Thank you for all who have prayed for us. Keep on praying! There is so much to do, and I believe so little time to do it.

I can only close by saying "Praise the Lord!"

Yours for Native America
Ken Trivette

Report from the Wind River Reservation

I apologize for the delay in updating my blog. It has been run, run, run for the past several weeks. I am back on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming. It is a blessing to have several pastors and guests with us to help us in the meeting. Pastor Tim Dockery and a couple of his men from Bible Gospel Baptist Church from Connelly Springs, N.C., my pastor, Johnny Nix, and a couple of men from Harmony Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN, Brian Miller from Somerset, N.J., are among the pastors that are helping us this week. As well, several of our missionaries, Dan Spencer, Nathan Miller and Christian Epling are with us.

On Sunday I preached at Calvary Baptist Church which is pastored by our missionary, Richard Morgan. There was an excellent crowd in attendance and a young man was saved. Praise the Lord. On Sunday night I was at our newer Church on the Reservation, Washakie Baptist Church. This Church is less than three years old and is pastored by our missionary, Dan Fritz. The building was full. It was a blessing to see the Native Americans keep coming in.

We began our meeting at a local camp on Monday night. There was a good number in attendance and one was saved. Glory! Last night, one of our guests from North Carolina surrendered to preach and to become a missionary to Native America. Hallelujah!

We will be here through Thursday night. I covet your prayers for the meeting. When we arrived we had no idea what to expect. We were not even sure anyone would show up. God once again proved His faithfulness and demonstrated His power. The attendance in both meetings (Pine Ridge Village and Kyle) exceeded any of my expectations. The response of the people was overwhelming. I have never been any where that I found hearts were as open and receptive as those we found on Pine Ridge. To God be the glory, there were 7 precious Sioux people who accepted Christ as their Saviour. Again, I say glory!

I will never forget the elderly Sioux lady who came to the tent one night and said to me, "Thank you for coming. We need revival on Pine Ridge. Thank you for coming." I have carried a special burden for Pine Ridge for sometime. I leave the reservation with even a deeper burden. Please pray that our missionary that is going to Pine Ridge will be able to raise his suppport quickly. We need to get him to the reservation as soon as possible. As well, I am praying that God will give us at least 3 more missionaries for Pine Ridge. It is a very large Reservation and we need Churches scattered all over the Reservation. Pray with me that God will call workers to this field.

I had a good day at the Liberty Baptist Tabernacle in Rapid City on the Lord's Day. The pastor is Wayne Williams. He will soon complete 30 years at the Church. He has a great ministry with Bearing Precious Seed in the Church. I enjoyed worshipping and preaching at Liberty. The Church is a testimony of Pastor William's faithful service to God. He is one of the best Bible teachers I have ever heard.

I will start back for home on Tuesday and resume my deputation and encouraging others to join us in this great work. As always, I will leave my heart on the Reservations and with the Native Americans. We have bathed our meetings here in prayer for over a year. We had no idea what to expect. We didn't know if we would be able to get anyone to come to our meetings. We put the tent up in Pine Ridge Village and then began telling people about the meeting, trusting God that people would come. In 2 of the services we had over 40 in the services (42 and 47). Praise the Lord, we had 3 precious Sioux accept Christ as Savior.

On Wednesday we broke the tent down and moved it to the town of Kyle, which is further into the Reservation. We will began a 3 day meeting in Kyle. Please pray that God will bless.

I have found the people of Pine Ridge with greater needs than any Reservation I have been on, but yet as receptive as any Native Americans I have been around. God has certainly gone ahead of us and prepared the way. We do need you to keep praying for us while we are here. I will update the blog tomorrow to let you know how the meeting in Kyle goes tonight.

God bless and thanks for all who are following the ministry and lifting us up in prayer.

Yours for Native America
Ken Trivette

Pine Ridge Report

I arrived yesterday (Monday) on the Pine Ridge Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. One of our missionaries, Christian Epling, and others had come earlier to set up the tent. We came here having no idea what to expect. We were not even sure if anyone would come to the meeting. We came trusting God that He would work to help us reach people for Christ and to help us lay a foundation for a future Church on Pine Ridge. To God be the glory, there were 23 in the meeting last night! We are going to be visiting on the Reservation today so I covet your prayers as we go out. Thanks for all who have prayed.

WIND RIVER UPDATE (7/4/09)

We began our meeting last night with the Washakie Baptist Church on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming. This is the second Church we have on the Reservation. The Wind River Reservation is one of the largest in the U.S. This Church was started just a little over two years ago and is pastored by Missionary Dan Fritz. They have rented out the Fremont County Youth Camp for their meeting. This is a new adventure for them and it was encouraging to have around 25 in the services last night. I say encouraging because working among Native Americans is a hard and slow work. Although we did not have anyone saved last night, over half in attendance came forward during the invitation. I ask you pray for these special services. They will continue through Sunday (7/5/09).

As well, pray for those who have gone ahead to set the tent up on the Pine Ridge Reservation for our tent meeting there next week. They will begin services there in the morning. This is a meeting that we have been bathing in prayer for over a year. A Sioux once said to me that Satan held a cloud over Pine Ridge. This effort is a step of faith to attempt to lay a foundation for a future Church on Pine Ridge. I will be leaving tomorrow after the morning service to head to Pine Ridge to join those who have gone ahead.

PLEASE PRAY FOR GOD'S POWER TO WITH US!

Yours for Native America
Ken Trivette

WIND RIVER REPORT

Our meeting on the Jicarilla Apache Reservation was by far the best we ever had. The attendance exceeded 250 in a couple of services with the tent full every night. To God be the glory, there were 8 precious Native Americans saved. I left the Reservation on Monday with a heart full of praise to God.

We arrived on the Wind River Reservation on Wednesday. Native American Ministries has two missionaries and Churches on this Reservation. Wind River is the home of the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho. It is one the largest Reservations in the U.S. I preached last night at Calvary Baptist Church which is pastored by our missionary, Richard Morgan. To God be the glory, an Arapaho couple gave their life to the Lord. There was a good crowd present and a wonderful spirit in the service.

We will begin a meeting with our second Church on the Reservation Friday. The Washakie Baptist Church is about 2 years old and is pastored by our missionary Dan Fritiz. Please pray for the meeting and I will later post news about the meeting.

Yours for Native America
Ken Trivette
